Is your organisation working with farming communities affected by climate challenges? GGEM Farming is inviting partners to collaborate in strengthening food security across Malawi by expanding access to resilient sorghum seed.

About GGEM

GGEM Farming is a Malawian social enterprise committed to building fair and resilient food systems. We support smallholder farmers by providing quality inputs, training in Climate resilient farming practices, and structured market access. Through our integrated value chain, GGEM connects farmers from seed to market, ensuring improved productivity, stable incomes, and reliable food supply for communities.

Who Should Apply ?

We encourage applications from:

  • Registered NGOs or Community-Based Organisations (CBOs)

  • Organisations working with smallholder farming communities

  • Teams able to mobilise farmers and support agricultural training

  • Organisations interested in expanding climate-resilient crop production

Role of Strategic Partners

Partners will help strengthen sorghum production while contributing to local food resilience and farmer income opportunities.

Selected partners will:

  • Establish a minimum 1 acre sorghum seed multiplication plot

  • Mobilise and engage at least 500 farmers within their communities

  • Promote sorghum adoption through farmer education and outreach

  • Support farmer participation in the seed distribution and return system

Programme Summary ?


The FFRAN programme aims to expand sorghum production in climate-vulnerable areas by improving seed access and farmer knowledge. Through this initiative:


Step 1

Farmers receive starter sorghum seed packages through GGEM kiosks and partner networks

Step 2

Farmers grow sorghum using improved methods

Step 3

Farmers return 5kg of sorghum after harvest.

What do the farmers gain ?

Participating farmers gain access to subsidised fertilizer packages and future GGEM input programmes.
