Location: Remote (with optional in-person experience in Malawi)

Duration: 8–12 weeks (flexible start date)

Time Commitment: 10–20 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Research philanthropic funders
  • Maintain a prospect pipeline 
  • Support drafting applications or pre-qualification documents
  • Development of donor-ready profiles 
  • Develop pitch materials
  • Track funding deadlines
  • Build a calendar of strategic opportunities

Ideal Candidate

  • Undergraduate or graduate student in Public Policy, Development Studies, Environmental Studies, Social Enterprise,
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Passion for food justice, equity, and locally led change
  • Familiarity with Africa, agriculture, or impact investing is an asset

Role Overview

We’re seeking a mission-aligned intern to support our fundraising and partnership development efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and interested in social enterprise, sustainable agriculture, or international development.

You will work closely with the founding team to:

  • Research philanthropic funders, grant opportunities, and accelerators aligned with GGEM’s work in climate resilience, agriculture, and African-led development
  • Maintain a prospect pipeline and support drafting applications or pre-qualification documents
  • Support development of donor-ready profiles and pitch materials
  • Track funding deadlines and help build a calendar of strategic opportunities
